September 4, I arrived in Zagreb, Croatia, As I learned too close to my departure date from the Schengen countries, Flixbus, my sworn-favorite means of transportation, only drove to Zagreb on Sunday's. Not wanting to waste another day of my visa, I set off for Zagreb.
Zagreb was a perfect place to relax for 5 days. It's the "busy" capitol of Croatia, but small enough, you can see it in a day. I spent the first two days in my hostel watching movies on my laptop, and eating way too many rice cakes with nutella. Croatia is remarkably cheap, I had a fantastic hostel for $10 a night. Food was ridiculously cheap as well - once you recover from seeing 83 on the check out screen. (Equivalent to $12 for a week's worth of food). I bought two pairs of good quality black leggings at a store for $18 total. Aside from replacing my purse in Rome, these leggings were the first clothing purchase to replace my pleather leggings that were so old, the fabric stuck to itself and required peeling off itself to wear. I was only going to buy one, but I figured how cheap it was, might as well!
