Ho Thuy Tien

Ho Thuy Tien

A guy from a previous hostel in Hoi An was in Hue, and asked me to join him for a 4 mile bike ride to the Abandoned Water Park outside the city. I was given a really wobbly bike with pedal tracking that felt like I was bow legged when I pedaled. It made for an interesting ride.

Not really known on the main tourist radar, the attraction and location is passed through backpackers moving through South East Asia. It was used for many years, and once ownership changed hands, the new family stopped maintenance and failed to complete the construction. It's been overtaken by nature, and once housed a few crocodiles!!!! So glad they had been moved to a wildlife preserve.

We first came up to the Dragon monument. Through the graffiti wall staircase, we arrived to the top where the dragon mouth is. Hallmark photo moment.

While we knew the slides were somewhere nearby, it required further bike riding around the lakefront. It was a really pretty area.

Along the way back, we passed a graffiti covered stadium.

I've included a few phone photographs that my awesome travel friend helped take for me. Proof that I was actually there! ;)
