The first day trip outside of Dublin with Casey was visiting Northern Ireland's Giant Causeway. Naturally, to fill a day and see more of the country, they took us to several other locations.
First, we stopped along the road at the Dark Hedges. Originally created for homeowner's long driveway into their home, it's evolved into a tourist attraction. I had passed out on the bus while they were explaining everything, so I'm lacking full understanding of why we stopped. But, it was cool nonetheless!
Next, we arrived next to a gorgeous coastline. The main attraction was a rickety wooden rope bridge that people had the option to cross. I call the place "mini moher'.
The Giant's Causeway was next and our main destination. The area consists of over 40,000 interlocking hexagon basalt columns. Created from intense volcanic and geological activity dated over 16 million years old! This UNESCO site was unique and wondrous. It made for some awesome photos, huh? Our final stop was Belfast before returning back to Dublin!
There is a certain perk to having your sister around with her semi-professional camera. . . you get photos of. . . you! Let's call this my little photo shoot, eh? There's some great hair flying involved. Disclaimer: these are not my photos or from my camera :)
