VIENNA

VIENNA

Despite Prague's beauty, I was sad that it didn't possess it's own unique characteristic that made the city it's own. It was just a mixture of various gorgeous and colorful architecture. I thought that Vienna would be more interesting and was excited to move along. When I arrived to Vienna, it surprised me that the only area that resembled the architecture in Prague existed within the old city area. Otherwise, it was spread out, and less inspiring. Proof that you never can appreciate something until it is gone!

The beauty of Couchsurfing allows for locals to show me places that I wouldn't find on my own. This was a nearby palace close to my host's house. I highly recommend anyone using the community to enhance your own travel experience ;)

The first day, he walked me through the city, giving me an amazing tour of everything noteworthy in Vienna. What he left out was the Hundertwasser Village. Hundertwasser is an architect that doesn't believe in straight lines, which includes sloped sidewalks and floors (as you will see below). Definitely the highlight of my visit!
